Didgeridoo Vibrational Sound Therapy

Didgeridoo Vibrational Sound Therapy

Vibrational Sound Therapy is based on the theory that illnesses are a result of energy blockages on some level. All healthy organs vibrate at healthy frequencies and when disease or illnesses develop the vibrational frequency of the organs also change. Restoring organ frequencies back to a healthy state allows energy to flow freely and facilitates the body to bring about health and wellness.

At Hippocrates Health Institute Vibrational Sound Therapy is employed as part of a comprehensive holistic health program where optimum nutrition from a raw living food diet forms the main essential role of immune system building. It is an optional therapy that forms an integral part of Hippocrates’s signature Life Transformation Program.

Hippocrates Health Institute vibrational sound therapist Joda Cook has experience in this field of complementary therapy for over 20 years. Yoda specializes in Didgeridoo Vibrational Sound Therapy using the instrument to generate soothing vibrations that have achieved some remarkable results. He begins his session by concentrating over the hearth chakra before moving the vibrations around the body, returning back to the heart at the end of the session. The instrument is held very close to the body without touching, and the vibrations produced vary in tone from low to high vibrational tones. As the vibrations enter the body they act on the physical cells, as well as the ethereal energies of the chakras and energy meridians removing energy blockages and relaxing the muscles, easing tension and stress.

The Didgeridoo is an ancient instrument that produces a range of vibrational frequencies known for relieving stress and anxiety, reducing fatigue, releasing emotions and energizing the meridian system. It is also associated for a number of physical health benefits including easing muscular joint pains, arthritic pain, back and neck pain and overall boosting energy and vitality.

Didgeridoo Vibrational Sound Therapist at Hippocrates Health InstituteJoda Cook’s vibrational sound therapies at Hippocrates Health Institute bring people into a deep state of relaxation by the end of the session. At this stage Yoda takes the mind on a guided journey of visualization using the power of the mind to bring about a state of deeper relaxation that further assists in stress and tension relief, and emotional release. Yoda conducts his therapies in a peaceful environment surrounded by natural materials, located inside the tranquil gardens of the Hippocrates Health Institute’s 50-acre campus. Yoda sees himself as a conduit that continues to derive knowledge and inspiration as he develops his skills, and all the time incorporating this new information into his program.

Sprouts – Powerhouses of Nutrition

Sprout-1Sprouts account for 50% of the raw living food diet served at Hippocrates Health Institute because of their high levels of nutrients and enzymes and the ease at which they can be digested. This allows the body to direct the excess energy toward other beneficial functions like cleansing, regulating and building the immune system, and healthy cell creation. Even compared to eating other raw foods, you will experience a greater sense of vitality and energy after a meal of sprouts. Hippocrates takes the extra step to incorporate sprouts such as wheatgrass and sunflower into the drinks served each day thereby maximizing the health benefits gained from both food and drink.

The importance of nutrition in bringing vitality to the body is not a new concept practiced at Hippocrates Health Institute. Going back 5000 years records exist of Chinese physicians prescribing sprouts to treat illnesses.

sproutsSo why are sprouts so nutritionally beneficial? The answer lies within the seed which is full of nutrition and enzymes. When a seed gets water, air and suitable temperature it germinates and it’s enzymes become activated, and there is an explosion of nutritional activity – on average vitamin A will increase 300 percent and a 500 to 600 percent increase in vitamin C. In addition the starches are converted into simple sugars, thus making sprouts easy to digest. After sprouting the enzymes become the ‘lifeforce’ that facilitate the digestion and absorption of nutrients in the body.

Attributes of a sprout:

  • 100 times greater enzyme activity than fruits and vegetables within the first 7 days after germination.
  • Easier to digest carbohydrates, as its starches are converted to simple sugars.
  • Contains easily digestible fatty acid soluble compounds, in place of fats.
  • The complex proteins of the seed are converted to easily digestible simple amino acids.
  • Vitamin production increases 300% to 1200%.
  • Minerals become bonded to amino acids making them easily assimilated into the body.
  • Its cell walls are more delicate allowing nourishment to be released more easily.
  • High in phytochemicals and antioxidants powerful in fighting disease and provides anti aging properties.
  • Abundant in Chlorophyll – having purification, anti-inflammation and regeneration qualities.

At Hippocrates Health Institute the statement that’s often heard, “It’s not the food in your life – it’s the life in your food”, refers to these sprout powerhouses. Never in a plants life will the nutrition and enzyme levels be as high as during the sprouting phase.

IMG_1423There is a wide variety of sprouts to choose from offering different flavors and textures, as well as nutritional and health benefits. Some of the salient benefits are as follows:

Sunflower – up to 30% protein, contains 8 essential amino acids, and vitamin D (Approx. 92 IU per 100g or 16% RDA). Also high in trace minerals making it good for bones, muscles, tissue tone and red blood cells.

Sweet Pea – Rich in protease inhibitors that act against viruses and chemicals that promote cancer. Reduces bad cholesterol or LDL in the blood.

Buckwheat – good for circulation, digestion, and neutralizing the effects of radiation due to its anti-plaque properties.

Clover – Purifies the blood. High in calcium and contains plant estrogens that balance hormones. Contains anti-cancerous isoflavones.

Broccoli – High in sulfophane known to protect cells becoming malignant, containing up to 100 times more than in the mature plant. Promotes the bodies’ production of glutathione that neutralize carcinogens, before they can damage the cell DNA.

Radish – Good for clearing mucous from the respiratory tract. De-worms the body and builds good intestinal flora. Mung, Lentil and Adzuki – High in soluble fibers that lowers the bad LDL cholesterol in the blood. Help in regulating insulin and blood sugars.

Fenugreek – Reduces inflammation and benefits the digestive system by soothing the mucous membranes. Contains a fat controller chorine, thus helping weight loss.

Sprouts offer a very viable and economic solution for many regions facing food shortages. They require virtually no soil, very little space and water relative to the nutritional content they provide. When we see the burden to the planet caused by modern diets of meat, dairy, fish, and large monoculture farming practices, growing sprouts could potentially provide an economical and environmentally sustainable alternative. The health benefits form a high sprout diet witnessed by Hippocrates Health Institute should not go without mention. A world where people ate mostly sprouts would be a healthy and thriving one!

Creating Our Life Day-by-Day

An intriguing and puzzling question we often encounter at Hippocrates Health Institute involves the nature of personal choice, and individual potential for longevity. Moving through life we have the option to explore new endeavors and either absorb or reject these experiences. This is the process of learning, and the essence of learning involves an open mind and the ability to choose. However when we are not open to options and experiences we become afraid to choose and learning

Healthy Living Education

becomes greatly diminished. At Hippocrates Health Institute learning is seen as an expansion of oneself that provides a vast and potentially endless number of productive selections from which to choose. Hippocrates pursue ongoing research and the application of knowledge from different therapies, applied nutrition and psychological exploration, unlocking the remarkable potential that we posses to create unlimited insight and clarity.

What we have learned at Hippocrates Health Institute from applying and analyzing the principals of life-changing activity is that there is no one way to reach the ultimate desired outcome. Throughout life while pursuing ones life goals there are many rewarding and enriching events that cumulatively may be more important than the actual end result itself. Being constantly aware, with an open heart will certainly help us to appreciate each event, and be grateful for all of our encounters. Too often we focus on the results and outcome, rather than the passing moments that may indeed be the very pinnacles of our existence.

One of our past guests at Hippocrates Health Institute, a middle-aged lady who had always feared close relationships and intimacy, reflected on her upbringing with her stern and estranged, yet loving parents who had appeared to have distorted her sense of normal communication. She had been married three times and each husband remarkably had the same issues of speaking negatively and disrespecting her over and over. She did not feel these repeat situations had anything to do with her. At Hippocrates this is seen as denial, something we have seen with many people in similar situations, but she denied this applied to her. She maintained the problems were with her husbands and not in her ability to choose wisely. After completing the Life Transformation Program at Hippocrates Health Institute, she came to the understanding that every day of our life is purely created by each of us, and it is up to us to learn, grow and change from our experiences. As we learn from our past experiences and understand how we created them, we do not have to recreate them again.

green-juice1At Hippocrates Health Institute we believe it is essential to nurture ourselves throughout each experience and at every level if we are to fully enjoy a long, healthy and fulfilling life. One must have a clear reason to live, and an ultimate and necessary goal if one is to achieve an enlightened and enriched grand age. Some of the tools necessary to achieve this are part of what is provided at Hippocrates Health Institute: nutrients, exercise, positive attitude, pure thoughts and spiritual openness. While none of these tools alone are adequate, together they form a powerful basis for longevity when used passionately everyday with each personal mission. And through each reward our reason for living will become more apparent. Hippocrates Health Institute encourages you to tap into unlimited powers and vital energies of body-mind and utilize them each day. By discovering what it is you are passionate about in life and moving within them every day, you will eventually become fully engaged in all aspects of your world, ultimately doing it with ease, health, and happiness, living a long and fruitful life.

Hippocrates Health Institute Developing The Most Advanced Enzymes

Over 90 years ago Dr. Edward Howell, physician and researcher discovered the secret to how our bodies digest with the aid of enzymes supplements. The Hippocrates Health Institute has always recognized and supported Dr. Howell’s theories on the use of digestive enzymes, and over the past 60 years, have integrated this knowledge into the Hippocrates’ dietary program. Hippocrates Health Institute has always believed this to be an important field to conduct further research and development to improve enzyme supplements.

Hippocrates Health Institute director Brian Clement together with Victoras Kulvinskas began research in 1993 on ways to improve the efficiency of how enzyme supplements enter blood cells. They discovered after two years of research how to combine measured quantities of fresh-water algae, salt-water algae, kamut grass and herbs with a spectrum of enzymes so that blood cell absorption increased.

Since the digestive processes of the body eventually end up at a cellular level, with the cells deciding what nutrients are needed, the Hippocrates researchers found that introducing their new formula actually made the cells more receptive to nutrient uptake.

In the years following this important discovery, intense research and development at Hippocrates Digestive EnzymesHealth Institute has resulted in the most advanced and effective digestive enzymes ever created. Hippocrates has developed this formula into a veggie capsule product called LifeGive HHI-Zyme and forms part of its extensive LifeGive supplement range.

The Hippocrates Health Institute’s LifeGive HHI-Zyme helps to increase cellular enzyme absorption thereby assisting to combat oxidative stress, improve circulation, support muscle and joint recovery after exercise, as well as providing other systemic benefits.

Enzymes – The Secret Fountain of Youth

Enzymes are large protein molecules found in all living things – plant and animal. Your body is capable of producing two types of enzymes, metabolic and digestive. Digestive enzymes include things like protease, and lipase, and amylase for the digestion of proteins, carbohydrates and fats. In human physiological terms, metabolic enzymes are the spark of life. They are the catalyst for every single chemical reaction in your body – every process, every action, every muscle movement, every sense, every thought, every word and every deed. The more enzymes you have inside of you the more alive you become.

Food in its’ original, fresh, ripe, raw and unadulterated state contains naturally occurring enzymes which aid in its’ own digestion. When a peach falls to the ground the cell walls are broken and a bruise develops at the point of contact. The enzymes are liberated and the peach begins to digest itself. The same process occurs when we chew the peach. Thisistock_000048071644_large greatly reduces the burden of digestion from your body since it does not have to go through the taxing process of manufacturing enzymes for the digestion of the peach.

This is a key point as the body expends a great deal of energy in the digestion of food. When you eat a cooked food meal, 80% of your body’s total available energy is expended in the processing of that meal. When you eat a raw food meal the energy expended in processing is reduced to only 20%. The less energy you expend on digestion the more energy you have available for life. Most people go through their entire lives totally unaware of their true potential because their bodies are perpetually under the heavy burden of processing the unnatural foods they are eating.

The more food is processed the more enzymes are destroyed and it becomes mostly “dead.” Because of their highly perishable nature, heat processing (cooking) destroys 100% of the enzymes in foods rendering it completely inert. This increases shelf life which is very desirable for the commercial food distribution industry but, it is highly undesirable for your body’s health and well-being. As a result of cooking and other forms of food processing, enzymes are largely missing from the Standard American Diet (SAD.) Other Fresh green vegetablesessential nutrients such as vitamins, minerals and proteins are also destroyed in the processing of food which creates other issues with your health which we will explore in greater detail in another article.

However, all is not lost as the body has the capability of producing digestive enzymes to make up for the lack of enzymes in cooked and otherwise processed foods. The problem is that you were born with a finite ability to manufacture enzymes. When you deplete your enzyme manufacturing capability, you die. The less of a burden you put on your body to produce digestive enzymes, the more metabolic enzymes will be available throughout your lifespan. This greatly improves your energy, vitality, health and longevity.

This is part of the magic and life force energy living foods like sprouts. According to Dr. Edward Howell who literally wrote the book on enzymes called “Enzyme Nutrition”, sprouts have up to 100 times the enzymes of even raw diet! Living foods are alive and you are alive. Since life begets life, the more living foods you take into your body at the expense of dead foods the more alive you become! It is not uncommon to see people who eat raw and living foods to look 15 years younger than their true chronological age and have soaring energy levels. Raw and living foods are truly Anti aging Living foods create living bodies. Dead foods create sick, decaying and dead bodies.

Rebounding for Lymph Health

The lymphatic fluid is a clear liquid that contains the body’s T- and B-cells. The lymphatic system, as Dr. Morton Walker refers to it in his book Jumping for Health, is the “metabolic garbage can of the body. It rids you of toxins, such as dead and cancerous cells, nitrogenous wastes, fat, istock_000008593117_largeinfectious viruses, heavy metals, and other material cast off by the cells.” CJ Puotinen outlined how modern living and clothing, such as bras, and lack of exercise lead to constriction of the lymph system or allow it to lag and become clogged. (“Lymphatic Immune Support,” May/June and July/August 2000 issues of Well Being Journal.)

When you rebound, you are helping your cells metabolize, cleanse and renew, and you are helping your lymph system to pump and drain out the body’s waste. Unlike the cardiovascular system, with the heart as a pump, the lymph system does not have a pump. Lymph is moved like a hydraulic pressure system…. The lymph tubes a…re filled with one-way valves that only open up, or allow drainage toward the center of the body. When pressure below the valve is greater than above ( moving downward on the rebounder) the valves are forced open so the fluid can flow.” There are only three ways foristock_000011270803_large the lymph system to “pump” and cleanse: exercise, which helps muscular contraction; massage of the tissues it serves to get it to pump back into the pulmonary circulation; and gravitational pressure with its resultant internal massage.

Rebounding provides all three ways of removing waste from the cells. Dr. Walker sums it up: “Then arterial blood enters the capillaries in order to furnish the cells with fresh tissue fluid containing food and oxygen. The bouncing motion effectively moves and recycles the lymph and the entire blood supply through the circulatory system many times during the course of the rebounding session.” And the joy of it all is that you don’t even have to exert yourself to get these benefits. The eldest of the elderly can do this, as well as the handicapped person, and the arthritic.

6 Good Reasons to Choose Organic Natural Fibers

1. Eco-Friendly and health-friendly organic fibers are grown and organic clothing is produced without the use of pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, genetic modifications, or other substances and processes that pose a danger to human health or the environment.

2. Nonorganic and synthetic fibers, by contrast, release chemicals and dyes during production and manufacturing that damage fragile ecosystems and harm wildlife.

3. Organic natural fibers are recyclable and biodegradable, whereas nonorganics and synthetics don’t easily biodegrade and tend to accumulate in landfills, which poses a disposal problem for future generations.istock_000034580562large

4. Because organic fibers aren’t degraded by chemicals during growing and processing, clothing made from these fibers is stronger than nonorganics and has a longer lifespan.

5. Natural organic fabrics are more absorbable and breathable for your skin than nonorganic and synthetic clothing. See for yourself by comparing how organic cotton feels against your skin on a hot and humid day as opposed to polyester or other synthetic blends.

6. Natural organic fibers don’t release toxic fumes from chemicals when you wear them, whereas nonorganic synthetics off gas minute amounts of chemicals, which you then absorb through your skin and lungs.

Until the twentieth century the world’s cotton production was entirely natural and organic, but by the end of that century, as synthetic chemicals came to dominate the marketplace, cotton crops accounted for about 10 percent of all the planet’s pesticide Fluffy cottonusage and around 25 percent of all insecticides used. To put that toxic burden into human terms, the Organic Trade Association estimates that a single nonorganic cotton T-shirt is the product of one-third pound of pesticides and chemical fertilizers.

Over the past decade organic cotton made a comeback among producers and consumers owing to widening concerns about the impact of pesticides and insecticides on human health and the environment. You can now readily find organic cotton in all types of clothing, from casual to high fashion; in absorbent diapers, towels, bedding, and cushions; and even in personal care products.

Juicing your way to a new You

New Years Resolution:

Fresh made green juices are the most potent form of nutrition. When we juice vegetables and dark leafy greens all their goodness is released from the indigestible fiber and we are able to drink their highly concentrated nutrients. These nutrients are then able to enter our bloodstream very quickly bypassing most of the normal digestive process. This gives our digestive system a rest conserving massive amounts of energy which can then be used for regenerating, living, and healing.

Since juicing removes the indigestible fiber, nutrients are available to the body in much larger quantities than if the vegetable or leafy green was eaten whole. For example, because many of the nutrients are trapped in the fiber, when you eat raw vegetables and leafy greens your cells are only able to assimilate about 1% of the availableKale smoothie phytonutrients such as beta carotene. When that same vegetable or leafy green is juiced, removing the indigestible fiber, nearly 100% of that same beta carotene can be assimilated into your cells.

Juicing breaks open the cell walls of your produce make it easy for your cells to quickly assimilate the high quality nutrients found in your vegetables and especially rich in your dark leafy greens. Very few people eat enough raw vegetables and dark leafy greens. Juicing provides a quick and easy way to increase your consumption of these important foods. When you juice produce you concentrate all the nutrients found in your food.

Other co-factors such as fructose in fruit are also concentrated. For this reason I recommend avoiding fruit juices, carrot juice, and beet juice as the fructose content in these juices is too high. This can cause a spike in your blood sugar levels and can become a challenge for your pancreas to regulate your blood sugar levels. Juicing green vegetables and dark leafy greens is a much better choice.

Fresh green juices provide us with minerals, vitamins, essential fatty acids, carbohydrates, proteins and much more. Green juices provide your blood and body with the essential nutrients and purification that they require. The nutritional essence of plants is best istock_000021127516_largederived from their juice. Sunlight infuses all life; plants are the storehouses of nature’s captured and distributed sunlight. Drinking green juices is like drinking liquid sunshine!

Fresh wheatgrass juice is nature’s finest medicine. It is our signature elixir here at Hippocrates Health Institute. It is the icon in our logo. A two ounce shot of fresh wheatgrass juice has the nutritional equivalent of five pounds of the best raw vegetables! It is both a concentrated liquid nutrient and a powerful detoxifier. I recommend a two ounce shot of fresh wheatgrass juice twice a day.

Juice fasting is the best remedy for colds and flu’s. This supplies nutrients and removes the burden of digestion of fiber which saves energy that can then be used to heal the body. Juices can flush toxins from your body, are good for your weight, heart, circulation and overall well-being. Juices contain no saturated fats or added sodium and can be helpful in lowering your cholesterol. Drink fresh juices within fifteen minutes after it has been extracted to obtain all of its multifaceted nutritional benefits. Juicing is better than smoothies because excessive oxidation often occurs if your smoothie is blended too long and at high speeds.

Here are more reasons to juice in 2015:ultimate-green-juice

Sprout Into the New Year

As 2014 draws to a close and 2015 is almost upon us it is a perfect time to make a healthier resolution for the New Year. A simple and very effective healthy practice is to resolve to add a small amount sprouts to every meal. Every grocery store will have at least one type of sprout on the shelf or you can grow your own! You can sprinkle a few on your salad, add to your entree or have them anytime as a healthy snack.Sprout-1

Sprouts are baby plants in their prime and are, on average 20 times more nutritious than even the best raw vegetables. At this early stage of growth sprouts have a greater concentration of nutrients than at any other time in the plant’s life. All of the energy stored in the seed is ignited by the soaking and rinsing process.

Sprouts are the perfect food because they can be grown anywhere in the world anytime of the year right in your own kitchen. The easiest sprout to grow is mung beans. All you need is a one quart wide mouth Mason jar, a sprouting lid, the seeds, and water. Here are the steps:

1. Put ½ cup of mung beans in the jar and install the sprout lid.
2. Fill the jar with at least two cups of water and soak at room temperature for eight hours.
3. Drain the water and leave the jar upside down in a drain pan propped at a 45 degree angle to allow the water to drain.
4. Rinse twice a day for two or three days.
5. Harvest when the roots emerging from the beans and are at least as long as the bean itself.
6. What you are not going to use right away can be stored in the refrigerator for a few days. I suggest storing sprouted beans and legumes in a green bag with the air removed. If moisture is present, placing a paper towel in the bag will extend shelf life.
